We had the most amazing Easter Sunday! To start, it was 85 degrees ... which always makes for a good day, but we also had such a fun time hosting family and playing outside with our girl. She was so excited to tear apart her Easter basket first thing in the morning and was most excited about her new children's bible and bubbles! Of course, I had to let her steal a Reese's peanut butter cup right away because, well, EASTER! We filled some eggs with yogurt bites and goldfish for a little egg hunt as well, which she loved! For dinner I made a pot roast in the crockpot with carrots and onions (you can find the recipe I used here) and for sides we had brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, apple cheddar biscuits, and deviled eggs! Dessert was a double-decker chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, which I added green food coloring too as "grass" so I could top the cake with mini cadbury eggs! Lolo thought it was pretty cute ;) Funny story ... I tried to get a head start on dessert the night before so I baked the cake and then realized that I hadn't put the eggs in! #EasterFail
What did you guys make for dinner? We typically do ham, but broke away from that this year and it was pretty nice to stick a roast in the crockpot and forget about it for 10 hours! May have to make that a new tradition :) I wanted to share some photos from our day ... and also my dress which is only $35 from Target. It's from the new Victoria Beckham line ... she has designed so many cute pieces! I also loved this orange one-shoulder shift dress too, but ended up going with the pink because it matched London a little bit better :) I think it would make a great wedding guest dress too! You can shop it above but make sure to check out the photos from our day, below!
I'm so excited for Easter weekend with my little family! We are taking Lolo to see the Easter bunny tomorrow and I just can't wait. We have her basket all filled with some of her favorite goodies and plans to go to church on Sunday then host a delicious (hopefully) dinner with family at our apartment :) What is everyone doing this week? I would love to hear all of your Easter plans!
How sweet and feminine are these ruffle pieces? I love that this trend has totally taken over spring! I wanted to share some adorable dresses and tops with just the perfect amount of "ruffle!" I just bought this casual tee with a little ruffle detail that dresses it up! (It's only $15 too!) Happy shopping and thank you for stopping by!
We are leaving TODAY for a little family vacation to Florida! We are so excited to take London to Disney World for the first time and the best part is, we'll be traveling with my hubby (of course), my parents, sister and her family as well! I can't wait for us all to board the plane together and start our little getaway! I always feel like I need to pack a million things in London's carry-on (we use this Skip Hop bag) and often forget any of my own essentials! Typical mom life, right?! This time, I made sure to pack my backpack with some of the things I need to make my own life easier. I also try to pack a few items in case we should end up delayed or worse, stranded with no luggage (since that's happened to us all probably at least once!). I've included some travel sized "must haves" as well as some full size clothing items that you could sneak into your carry-on as well!
Shop my "carry on essentials" below! I also picked up a few new things for this trip, like this $23 "vacay" tote and this polka dot one-piece that's under $40! In case you missed my blog containing tips for traveling with a toddler, you can find that here!
2. Pair of shorts (Love these...)
3. Lightweight sundress (Love this colorblock maxi!)
4. Pair of lightweight sandals (These are cute...)
When I'm traveling, I like to pack a few pairs of sunglasses; black pair, brown pair, and/or my aviators. I've rounded up a few of my faves for you below and as always, my go-to Ray-Bans that fold up are making the trip - I never leave home without them!
My Outfit: Dress: Max Studio, similar here and here | Booties: Report, similar styles here and here | Sunglasses: Joe's, similar here | Clutch: H&M, similar here and here (both under $25!)| Hat: Gap, love this one (only $31!) | Lip color: Sephora Lip Stain in "Flame Red" (under $14!)
We are totally snowed in (right after I thought I was in the clear to do a "Spring Style" post!) I'm not going to lie, our trip to Florida can't come soon enough! I am SO over the cold and shoveling our driveway ... not to mention just being stuck inside with a 20-month old! Can you say stir-crazy?! Ahhh! Do you guys have any indoor activity ideas that I can try with London this week?
In other news, I love shirtdresses :) Actually, you already knew that too (if you've been following along!) They're just so cute + comfy, and obviously I'm all about that! The one pictured is old but I've linked a few similar and a few more below for you to shop as well! I LOVE these booties too (I found a similar pair under $65!) ... they're so cute and perfect to pair with a dress like this or with a pair of boyfriend jeans.
Shop this look below! Thanks for stopping by!

This week I'll be sharing a few travel-related posts with you all, since we are heading to Charleston, SC! I'm SO excited and I've been researching places to go like a crazy woman! My husband's basketball team will be playing in their conference tournament there so since he'll be busy, we are flying my mom down to be with us! It will be our first time to Charleston and I'm so excited to explore such an incredibly historic and beautiful place!
I've started packing a bit (since it takes me forever to sort through what I need to bring) ... and the first order of business is planning a travel outfit! I always like to be comfy, but still fashionable. I've put together a few outfit ideas for you to check out below, and you can shop each outfit through the links below the graphic! Enjoy!
Maybe it's the three snowstorms we had last week that's making me crave the warm weather ... or the fact that next week we leave for Charleston ... but I just can't WAIT for sunshine! By this time, you all know how much I LOVE t-shirt dresses! They're so comfortable, typically very affordable, and they can be dressed up or down! I usually dress them down because #momlife ... but you could easily add some cute pumps or strappy heels for a comfy/cute date night outfit! Forever 21 is usually my go-to place for t-shirt dresses because they're almost always under $20! (Shop their current selection here) The one I'm wearing above was under $13 (find it here) and I paired it with Converse sneaks that you can see in similar style here!

TGIF! It has been such a rough week in the Markwood household with Lo being sick and all of us running on very little sleep! She has been sick on and off for about 3(ish) weeks and we found out yesterday that she has an ear infection. Poor baby! Needless to say, I'm pretty pumped for the weekend and for some much needed rest for all of us!
This is one of my favorite looks because I LOVE the sweater so much. Camel is such a trendy color and I could pair this sweater with black denim and it would look great as well! The boots I snagged on sale and they're around $60 right now which is a total steal! They're super comfortable because of the block heel! You can shop the look above (I've linked the pieces and some similar) as well as below this text and shop all of my Instagram looks here!
Hope everyone has a restful and healthy weekend!
My Outfit: Jacket: J.Crew, similar here and here | Shirt: HM, similar here and here | Jeans: HM (under $20!) | Boots: Vince Camuto, similar here (under $50) here, and here | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Lipstick: Sephora "Always Red"
Happy Valentine's Day, Lovers!
I posted this outfit on my Instagram and wanted to share here also! I feel like we had such a mild winter up until this past week! We've had so much snow dumped on us here in Boston, and all I can think of is Spring! The snow, although annoying to manuever in, is so beautiful - especially after a fresh snowfall. I took these photos at my parents farm a few weeks ago with my favorite photographer, Patti Takacs (you can check out her site here!) I love the contrast between the white of the snow and the dark outfit/red lip! The red lip stain "Always Red" that you see me wearing is from Sephora and it's my absolute favorite! It's only $14 and it's so long-lasting. The jacket I actually stole from my mom for this shot (Thanks, Mom!) - it's J.Crew and classic wool blend. I linked a few look-a-likes above!
I'm 30 (plus 2) today! ;) Happy Birthday to me!
...And happy week before Valentine's Day! I absolutely love celebrating this day with my guy! Actually, the month of February is one of my favorites in general; it's filled with so much pink, hearts, and chocolate :) Even though my husband and I agree on no gifts, just a nice dinner out - we always end up getting something for one another. If you're anything like me, and you struggle to find a gift for your guy - here are a few things to spark some inspiration:
1. Chelsea boot // 2. Wireless FitBit (for the gym enthusiast!) // 3. No-Iron checkered shirt // 4. Monogram cuff links (love this idea & GREAT PRICE!) // 5. Wireless head phones // 6. RayBan sunnies // 7. Thermal knit robe (trust me on this one!) // 8. Suede slippers // 9. Record player (unique gift idea!) // 10. Cashmere v-neck sweater // 11. Air-max Nikes (All guys love Nike) // 12. Bluetooth mini speaker // 13. "Luckiest Guy" mug (Just a little reminder!) // 14. Overnight duffle // 15. The North Face thermal jacket (Great price!) // 16. Tom Ford cologne (SO GOOD) // 17. Brown leather watch
A few Valentine's Day date ideas for you...
1. At-home dinner + a movie! If you don't want to spend money going out to a fancy restaurant or to a movie - create the date at home! Plan a menu and cook together while sipping on a class of wine! It's such a great way to enjoy each others company and to reconnect. Pick out a Netflix movie together or rent one for just over $1 from your local RedBox!
2. Catch a show! Boston has such an amazing theater district that offers an array of live performances. There are loads of restaurants to grab a bite to eat before or after the show!
3. Book a staycation! I'm a BIG fan of staycations and I love playing "tourist" with my hubby. Sometimes it's just nice to stay the night in a different place; it feels exciting and refreshing to wake up somewhere new (even if it is right in your backyard).
4. Go ice-skating together! I don't know why, but there's something that seems super romantic about ice skating, especially at night! Maybe it's because you get all bundled up and most definitely have to hold on to one another while you skate. It's a fun activity that will certainly bring you closer. Grab hot chocolate after to cap off the night!
5. Couples spa day! Book a couples massage or facial and just allow yourselves to be pampered. Most spas offer coffee, tea, or even champagne during your service, and you should totally take advantage of the free beverages :) If you don't want to splurge too much, set it up at home! Buy some essential oils (lavender is always calming), set up the room with candles, and dim the lights. You can alternate giving each other a relaxing massage.
How do you all usually celebrate Valentine's Day with your loved one?!
It's my birthday next week and then Valentine's Day just a few days later! I know I already did a Valentine's Day style post (see it here), but there's just too many gorgeous pink + red pieces catching my eye - I HAD to share them with you! Shop above by clicking on the icons or below you can scroll through each item! Also, if you want a little sneak peek at what I'll be wearing next week, check the "shop my Instagram" page here! Happy shopping!
How pretty is this pale pink and lace combo?! The sweater is actually all in one (sweater with an added lace layer) and I'm drawn to anything already layered so I don't have to think :) The purse was a steal from TJ Maxx ($24, Nine West) and I couldn't find the replica, but I linked a super cute blush tote with floral detailing here. I also thought I'd share some other pieces already layered for your convenience! You can shop them below!
Happy Monday, Loves!
I hope you all had a great weekend...we spent most of yesterday relaxing together as a family and eating WAY too much food during the Pats game! With Valentine's Day fast approaching I've started to share some inspiration and gift ideas with you. Today I've picked some of my favorite RED + PINK pieces ... because let's be honest, they really are the prettiest colors, am I right?! :)
I didn't get to add these sunglasses to my collage below, but I love them! The pale pink rims are so adorable. Also this beautiful lace dress comes in red and it's to die for; the peekaboo shoulder is a huge trend! Enjoy my other picks below - thanks for stopping by!

It's been so busy gearing up for the holiday week so I thought I'd share with your a little "winter roundup" of my latest Instagrams! I have Chris's birthday coming up in a few days then Christmas of course and my Dad's birthday on the 29th! We barely have time to catch our breath around this time of year! London and I have been staying at my parents house the past few days. We've been making (and feasting!) on cookies, listening to holiday music, wrapping presents, and having a blast playing in the snow! I just love being in Maine for the holidays. I hope you are all have a wonderful week and are finishing the last minute shopping!
What girl doesn't love jewelry? Growing up, my mother, sister and I would always circle our favorite pieces of jewelry out of the holiday catalogues that would come in the mail and secretly hope that my dad would stumble upon them! To this day, I still get excited when I see a tiny box underneath the tree! I love to find simple, timeless pieces that I know will compliment a variety of my outfits.
When I saw the jewelry from LULO I instantly fell in love with the elegance and uniqueness of Jelena's style. She even has a "mini me" section and designs jewelry for children like this mini cross bracelet - which I think is the absolute cutest! Another personal favorite of mine is this Karma CZ necklace, which would make an amazing layering piece. I mean, how happy would the lady in your life be if you gifted her with these earrings? They're super elegant and one-of-a-kind! Another aspect about LULO (that I HAD to mention) is that the designer, Jelena, is a full time mom! She started making jewelry as a hobby and it has grown into a lovely business! I love supporting inspirational women and especially moms!
Have you guys gotten any jewelry for your loved ones this holiday season? If not, it's the perfect thing to add to your shopping list and you can shop LULO here! Also, you can see photos of me wearing a few of Jelena's beautiful designs, below.
Brought to you by LULO Jewelry.
